The Yorkshire Health Network has provided the local GP led Covid-19 vaccination sites at the Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate and at Ripon Racecourse.
These are local GP vaccination sites set up and run by Yorkshire Health Network and the local Primary Care Networks (groups of GP surgeries). They are providing vaccinations for the Harrogate and rural district population and started with the most vulnerable patients in December 2020 at the Yorkshire Event Centre (Hall 2, Harrogate Showground). We have successfully set up a second site in Ripon at the Ripon Racecourse and we continue to vaccinate the population of Harrogate. By April 2021, we had provided 100,000 Covid vaccinations in the Harrogate area.
Our teams have led the vaccination programme into nursing homes in the Harrogate area, successfully initiating vaccination in 2020 for the most vulnerable in our society. The homeless service have also provided vaccinations for the homeless and vulnerably housed in Harrogate.
